Tomatoes -2-

Here's the last "flush" of my balcony tomatoes - ripening on the windowsill as the November sun no longer had enough power to ripen them outside.

Mediterraner Nudelsalat

Ob Grillen mit Kollegen, Party mit Freunden oder Sommerfest im Karateverein... er kommt immer wieder gut an. Ein Nachbau nach Gedächtnisprotokoll aus meiner Kindheit... immer ein bisschen anders, immer mit Tomaten.... und heute hier aufgeschrieben: der mediterrane Nudelsalat.

Zutaten für den Salat:

• eine Packung (Vollkorn-)Schleifchen-Nudeln (~400g) bissfest gekocht (ordentlich Olivenöl und Salz im Wasser!)


• 5-6 frische, aromatische Tomaten kleingewürfelt


• 2 Handvoll schwarze Oliven in Scheiben geschnitten (oder grüne und schwarze Oliven je zur Hälfte gemischt)


• kleingeschnittene getrocknete Tomaten nach Belieben (Normalerweise
  mische ich immer getrocknete+gesalzene Tomaten mit in Öl eingelegten
  getrockneten Tomaten (wobei ich da vorher das überschüssige Öl heiß abbrause))


• Knoblauch gewürfelt oder gepresst (nach Belieben)


• Pinienkerne (ca. 50g)

Für die Soße nehme ich:

• dunklen Balsamico


• gutes, kräftiges Olivenöl


• Salz & Pfeffer


• Kräuter der Provence (oder besser: frische Kräuter, z.B. Oregano, Rosmarin, Thymian)


• Crema de Balsamico zum Abschmecken

Tomatoes

As the balcony tomato grew continously and enjoyed the sun, I harvested a bunch of tomatoes during the last days. Here there are some harvesting pictures:

Summertime... on the balcony....

The garden is growing, especially the balcony tomato. Some days ago I already had to pre-harvest two of the bigger tomatoes as the plant started crooking like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Today I luckily got a bigger stick for supporting the balcony tomato from a good friend of mine. Here's a picture of the tomato - upright again. :-)
